Most Clueless Coroner Ever Seals The Ashes Of Mom’s Beloved Son In A Walmart Bag

5791403180_6a6ddd07d8__1377958916_142.196.167.223A mother is rightfully horrified after receiving the ashes of her beloved son’s body stuffed into a Walmart bag in an urn. Seriously, what the hell?

Nancy Bronner lost her son 17-year-old son T.J. to a heart condition. It was his wish to be cremated and have his ashes split between the family members. When she received his ashes from the coroner, she opened the urn to find her son’s ashes shoved into a Walmart bag.

The coroner claims splitting the ashes into different bags isn’t a service he normally provides and he didn’t have any clear bags on hand. So he reached for what he did have – a used Walmart shopping bag. He says “he took scissors to the shopping bags to remove any store logos before wrapping the ashes.”

I’m sure the guy didn’t act maliciously, but oh my God, can we use some common sense here and realize a mother is probably not going to be thrilled to see the ashes of her child shoved in a Walmart bag? I think it is unfair to assume that anyone knows the proper procedures for cremation. If bags were necessary, he should have gotten some or requested that the family provide him with some. How hard is it to find a clear plastic bag? I can confidently assert not hard at all.

The father didn’t have a problem with it and still keeps the ashes in the Walmart bag they were delivered in. The mother was distraught, and frankly I don’t blame her. It was a totally incompetent move that caused a lot of unnecessary anguish.

Ms. Bronner, who says she is in therapy over her son’s death, has contacted the Kentucky Attorney General’s Office and the Board of Embalmers and Funeral Directors to complain about the funeral home.

‘I don’t care who you are, it’s not right to put a human person’s ashes in a Walmart bag,’ she said. ‘It is disrespectful. You don’t do that to a parent who has lost their child. You don’t do that to anyone. I just want to make sure that this never happens again to another person,’ she said
