Couple Seeking Live-In Nanny Might Have the Most Demanding Job Listing Ever

A UK couple looking to hire a nanny might have just posted the most intense advertisement of all time. The job comes with tremendous perks, but also some pretty outrageous demands. Like working 78 hours per week.

On the website Childcare.co.uk, the advertisement for the position raises eyebrows from the start.

“We are a friendly family of six with 4 children ages 2, 5, 7 and 15. We split our time between 4 residencies, which include London, Barbados, Cape Town and Atlanta.”

Oh, just four homes? How quaint.

The parents require a nanny who has “a degree in child psychology, no children of their own and a minimum of 15 years of nannying experience.” Because of the locations of the family homes, the nanny must also be comfortable with traveling internationally up to three times per week.

In addition to the travel, the nanny must be willing to work six days per week, from 7am to 8pm. The four children are “homeschooled and require constant attention and supervision, even when they are with their teachers.” The parents would like the nanny to participate in the children’s lessons “whenever appropriate,” so that she can further their educations outside of the classroom.

But wait, there’s more! The parents would also like the nanny to eat with their children, but not boring mac and cheese or PB&J. No, this family has a Michelin star chef whipping up their meals. The nanny is required to have a clean UK driver’s license because she’ll be ferrying the children to a variety of appointments. But not in a minivan! This nanny will choose from the family’s stable of cars, including a Porsche, Range Rover and Maserati. Oh, and if the ideal candidate isn’t trained in self-defense, the parents will pay for the classes.

WHO ARE THESE PEOPLE?!?!

Despite traveling often for work and social commitments, the parents “like to have time alone with our children” when they are home. When that happens, they’ll ask the nanny to skedaddle. When that happens, the nanny can do whatever they desire with their free time, except binge drinking or drug taking, which will result in instant dismissal.

For this “demanding” role, the family is offering the live-in nanny a salary of £100,000 ($128,680 in U.S. dollars) per year.

Despite the attention their advertisement has received, only a “handful” of candidates out of 300 have met the “clearly stipulated requirements.”

If you’re practically perfect in every way for this job, grab your flying umbrella and apply…and then come back and tell us everything.
