Disney Store In Times Square Debuts Redesign Today

The Disney Store in Times Square is opening its doors today to an even more fantasy-like design. The store has been closed for two weeks to accommodate more interactive experiences within the store for kids. With the expanded first level, the Disney Store can now accommodate up to 10,000 customers.

The Pixie Trail, Magical Trees, and NY skyline were previously only visible on the second level, but the captivating decor now begins on the first. The most coveted addition with the redesign is the custom-designed 2D animated storytelling escalator, created in collaboration with Disney Studios. The glass panels on the sides of the escalator show clips of Disney characters. The fancy redesigns are an effort by the Disney Store to become ”the best 30 minutes of a child’s day.”

Radio Disney will be broadcasting live from the store today. Might be a nice way to kick off Memorial weekend with the kiddies if you’re in the area.
