Need A Disney Fix? These Disney Movies Will Be Available On Netflix In 2019!
In 2017, Disney broke our hearts when they announced that they would be pulling their content from other streaming platforms like Netflix. It wasn’t all bad news – the change is part of the development of their own streaming platform, which is set to debut in late 2019. Considering just how many movies and shows Disney has in their vast vault, it makes sense! And we’ll obviously be signing up as soon as we can. But in the meantime, where can you get your Disney fix without pulling out the old VCR and opening one of those puffy video boxes? The good news is there are still plenty of Disney movies on Netflix to enjoy in 2019. From old classics to new favs, Netflix has something for every Disney fan.
The Disney movies on Netflix through 2019 will tickle Disney fans’ fancy. Get into the live-action frame of mind with 101 Dalmatians.
Sure, the original animated version is sweet, but nothing tops Glenn Close as Cruella de Vil. Plus, all those puppies! The live-action version will definitely get you in the mood for all the live-action Disney goodness coming in 2019. Another of the Disney movies on Netflix that can get you in a live-action frame of mind is Beauty and the Beast. We know people are split on this version starring Emma Watson, but we happen to love it.
Need a good cry? Then check out A Wrinkle in Time, which is streaming now. The big-budget film based on the book was hit or miss for a lot of people, but it’s a gorgeous movie and it has Oprah, so we’re in. For a real tearjerker, watch Bridge to Terabithia. Also based on a best-selling novel, this movie about friendship and loss will have you reaching for ALL the tissues.
Comic book and superhero movies will be hanging around through 2019.
When we think of Disney, animated movies come to mind. But the studio owns, like, all of the comic book and superhero movies. Black Panther was an absolute smash at the box office, and for good reason – it’s one of the best comic book adaptations we’ve ever seen. It’s streaming now, and you won’t want to miss it. You can also catch Thor: Ragnarok, the third installment in the Thor franchise. And Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is currently streaming (although we haven’t quite forgiven Peter Quill for what he did in Avengers: Infinity War).
Disney also owns the Star Wars franchise (seriously, they own everything). So once they pull their content from Netflix, we’ll have to look elsewhere for our fix. But for now, you can still catch The Last Jedi and Rogue One, as well as the animated series The Clone Wars. And A Star Wars Story is coming to Netflix on January 9.
Looking for some Disney movies on Netflix that satisfy your animation craving? Start with Coco and work your way down the list.
You can still find some great animated Disney movies on Netflix. Coco is currently streaming, with no expiration date announced as of now. We had to say goodbye to Moana (sob!), but you can stream other Disney films featuring bad-ass female leads. Pocahontas, Mulan, and Lilo & Stitch are all still available! Don’t miss the chance to introduce your kids to some older classics, too. Tarzan, Meet the Robinsons, The Emperor’s New Groove, Atlantis: The Lost Emperor, and Hercules are currently available. And you can’t forget the Disney movies on Netflix with scrappy and fun mains: Chicken Little, Bolt, and Cars 3 are all currently streaming.
We’ve also got one final big one coming on January 30 – Incredibles 2 unleashes its powers on Netflix and the end of the month! You DON’T want to miss the chance to watch this one over and over again, it’s just that good.
Here are the other Disney movies on Netflix you have to look forward in 2019!
- High School Musical 3: Senior Year
- The Princess Diaries (full series)
- Miracle
- National Treasure
- Pirates of the Caribbean (third and fifth installments)
