Relatives recall that during Dee Dee’s childhood, she often resorted to petty crime in retaliation when things didn’t go her way. As she got older, she ran afoul of the law in other ways, often for writing bad checks. But her family suspects she committed far more sinister crimes. In 1997, relatives began to suspect that Dee Dee played a hand in her mother’s death, by starving her.
