Dear Public Officials, Stop Trying To Ruin Halloween

When I was a child in the 80s, Halloween meant getting dressed up however you liked (Madonna, green-faced witch); bidding adieu to your parents; and roaming the streets with your neighborhood BFFs. Sure, there were those stories of razor blades hiding in taffy apples and the like but in typical 80s fashion, most adults just ignored it and moved on. If only that were still the case today. Of course we want our children to be safe, but these days Halloween seems to be more about fear-mongering and political agendas than good, old-fashioned fun. Here’s a look at some of the modern-day Halloween hoopla making the news.
