Chrissy Teigen Sure Knows How to Shut Down a Mommy-Shaming Busybody

Something about the perceived distance between celebrities and the rest of us and the mask of anonymity provided by the Internet means that people online often feel totally justified in attacking celebrities on Twitter. But you are not anonymous with Chrissy Teigen, and if you try to shame her or attack her baby, she is likely to snap right back and school the offender on Twitter as surely as if it were in real life, like she did last night when some random woman inexplicably called her out for not knowing how to hold a baby.

Another celebrity might let that bit of petty busybodying go, but Teigen snarked back.

The woman’s comment got 132 likes, and Teigen’s response got well over 20,000. By Twitter rules, that means she won.

It’s not even clear what the woman is talking about when she says the baby isn’t being held correctly. Teigen’s daughter, Luna, is big enough to hold her head up, and seems perfectly comfortable being carried around like that.  Or, as David Nitzsche here says:

Indeed, that baby is being held as fuck.
