Celebrities You Didn’t Know Are Battling Medical Conditions
Singer Neil Diamond has been writing music and performing it onstange for more than 50 years, but the prolific songwriter announced in 2018 that his live performances would be ending due to his recent diagnosis of Parkinson’s disease. The degenerative disease affects the function of the brain and nervous system, ultimately affecting movement and coordination, among other things. The disease is most common in older men, and symptoms can include hand tremors, slurred speech, and mobility issues. Diamond fans can take heart knowing that the singer will continue writing and recording music in the coming years; he just won’t be singing it live.
