Can Anyone Make Being A ‘Good Girl’ Cool?

Tonight, the MTV Movie Awards happened. I thought I should let you know, just in case you don’t have any teenagers in your house. The awards that bring you lots of movie stars randomly making out (this year, it was Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner!) and a Best Kiss category, honored Reese Witherspoon with its Generation Award.

Who knew that one simple award would give us so much to talk about? I’ll let the ladies of Crushable handle Robert Pattinson’s incoherent ramblings. I was interested in Ms. Witherspoon’s acceptance speech. In it, she tried to tell young girls that it can be cool to be nice. Reese took some pot shots at many of the audience, saying that you don’t need a reality show to be successful. And I’m sure one of the Kardashians was fidgeting when she called out sex tapes as being embarrassing. All in all, Reese, a mother of two, wanted to communicate that misbehaving isn’t the only way to get to the top. And I have to say, I appreciate her message. I wish we had more people in Hollywood who want to be a positive role model. And she was funny while she did it.

So what do you think ladies? Can leading ladies like Reese Witherspoon and Sandra Bullock, who keep squeaky clean images and still manage to suceed, trump the Snooki’s and Kendra’s of the world? Let’s all hope so.
