Every Book Lover Knows The Pain This Bookworm Baby Feels When His Favorite Story Ends

bookworm-babyEvery person who loves books knows the bittersweet feeling of the moment when the last words have been read, and the book is finished. You’ve finally reached the end, but that means the book is finished and there is no more. Sigh.

This adorable baby has learned the bookworm’s pain early, because he cries every time he hears those words: “The end.” In this super adorable YouTube video, his mother reads I am a Bunny several times, and every time she hits that last page he falls down, distraught, and wails until she starts again.

We feel you, kid. There’s no book-lover alive who doesn’t wish they could read a favorite book again for the first time. How great would that be? I would erase the entire run of Terry Pratchett’s Discworld series from my brain just so that I could go back through and experience it all again for the first time.

Unfortunately for the bookworm baby, Nicholas the bunny always curls up in his hollow tree and dreams about spring. There is still hope, though! Someday he will be old enough to read Game of Thrones, and I think that will never end.

Until then, it’s a good thing he has his parents conditioned to read I am a Bunny over, and over, and over again. (My baby is about the same age and I just read that same book for the sixth time in a row. I can only hope this will help her to learn to read faster so she can do it for herself, because I think I’m becoming inured to the charms of Nicholas the bunny and his little red overalls.)

Just watch this little guy go:

It’s OK, little guy! There are more books in the world than you could ever read, and you’ve got your whole life to read lots and lots of them. This little boy might have to grow up to write some for himself, though. It’s the only way to keep the story going as long as he wants it to.
