Texas Restaurant Says ‘We Don’t Serve Fags Here,’ Gets Hilariously Destroyed On Yelp
Kelly Williams and his partner Colin Dewberry had just finished a meal at Big Earl’s Restaurant in Pittsburgh, Texas when as they were leaving their waitress had a little message for them. It wasn’t the usual “Thanks for coming! See you soon!” Nope. She just wanted them to know that gay people weren’t welcome at Big Earl’s. She said, “we don’t serve fags here.”
Actually, you just did honey, and the earth didn’t tip off its axis. God, I hate being reminded of what a backwards world we still live in. She followed that lovely message with, “Here at Big Earl’s we like men to act like men and ladies to act like ladies, so we want you to never return.” The couple said she sounded so nonchalant when she said it, almost as if she was reading from a piece of paper. Turns out, she was. The message is posted on their door.
Owner Earl Cheney maintains he’s not a bigot, he just likes to see men acting like men… blah, blah, blah. Apparently one of the men was touching the other’s leg, and the waitress – who happens to be Earl’s daughter – was beside herself.
An outpouring of support for the couple came in the form of some hilarious Yelp reviews – which paints Earl’s in a light that I’m sure will freak him out for all eternity. It’s pretty glorious. Here are some highlights:
Here’s a flier someone posted in the photos:
Oh, man. I love it when people take ignorance and stupidity and turn it into something hilarious. It’s kind of my favorite thing right now. Next to picturing Earl reading these reviews, that is.
