Beyonce Wants Blue Ivy To Have Slumber Parties, Lemonade Stands, And Run Through (Diamond Encrusted) Sprinklers

Beyonce motherhoodIn the year following Blue Ivy‘s birth, Beyonce has gotten awful chatty about her experience of mommy-hood. Now that all those surrogacy rumors are settling and the fervor surrounding Lenox Hill Hospital has died down, I guess now is the time to get the diva in a corner and have her spill on being a M-O-M. But slightly contrary to her yacht-hopping, Beyonce maintains wanting the simple things for Blue Ivy. Don’t they all say that?

In the March 2013 “Power Issue” of Vogue, Beyonce describes her 1-year-old as “my road dog, my homey, my best friend” and even goes into some spiritual musings about her contractions. But the multiple Grammy winner also wants her daughter to experience the happy childhood cornerstones:

”It’s very important to me that my daughter is able to experience life and run through the sprinklers and have slumber parties and trust and live and do all the things that any child should be able to do.”

”School visits and lemonade stands and all that stuff,” she adds. ”It’s very important for me.”

As much as I can buy the whole celebrity line of “I just want my kid to have a normal childhood” thing, there is a distinct laughable-ness here. This is a baby who rides in helicopters and naps in $1-million dollar nurseries.

I don’t doubt baby Blue Ivy will run through sprinklers or have lemonade stands. My only point is that they’ll probably be diamond encrusted ones lightly dusted with real gold. Tiny edit note needed.
