A Child Was Beaten at His Daycare Facility, and His Mom Is Demanding Answers

Good god, I cannot even imagine this mother’s anguish. Or this baby’s pain! This is a horrific story, and I want to warn everyone now, the images and videos are incredibly disturbing. Tiffany Griffin dropped her 1-year-old son Jesse off at daycare, like she does every morning. But just a few hours later, she was summoned back to the facility. When she arrived, she found her precious baby beaten black and blue, with cuts and a scratched, bloody face. The baby was beaten at his daycare, and Tiffany says the facility’s response has been just as appalling. Now she’s demanding answers, from the daycare and from authorities.

When Tiffany arrived at the Kiddiegarden facility in Indianapolis, she found Jesse, bloodied and bruised. The baby was beaten at his daycare after she dropped him off. WARNING: the image is incredibly graphic and disturbing.

Tiffany was so angry and distraught at finding her baby in this condition that she punched the 22-year-old daycare worker who was in charge. She also started filming at the facility.

The story the daycare worker gave Tiffany was that Jesse had been attacked by another child, a 2-year-old girl.

The owner of Kiddegarden Haben Ghebremichael told the Associated Press that the other child had blood on her hands after the attack. Ghebremichael initially posted a statement on Facebook regarding the incident. It has since been deleted, but it said, “We are deeply saddened about what took place yesterday afternoon to Jesse. We at Kiddiegarden pride ourselves on not only providing quality service to families, but also providing a clean, safe and healthy environment for all of our children since we opened our doors three years ago. Kiddiegarden has never had any accusations of abuse or maltreatment from any of our children or parents. This was truly a sad, shocking and unfortunate event. We have been diligently working with law enforcement, child protective services, as well as state agencies on this matter.”

But Tiffany says things don’t add up. How long were the children unsupervised? How could a 2-year-old do this much damage without an adult noticing and intervening?

Tiffany says that the other child’s mom expressed disbelief that her daughter was capable of this kind of aggression. To make matters worse, no one at the daycare called for help from police or paramedics until Tiffany arrived and demanded they call. So, a baby was beaten at his daycare, and the daycare didn’t even bother to call for help?! Unbelievable.

The incident is being investigated by authorities, but no arrests have been made. The daycare worker on duty when the attack happened has been fired. The facility has been issued an emergency shutdown order following the horrible incident.

Little Jesse is home and recovering, but Tiffany says the brutal attack has had an effect on their entire family. She no longer feels safe leaving her children in anyone else’s care, and the lack of answers she’s gotten from the daycare or the authorities has been incredibly frustrating. A GoFundMe account has been created to help with Jesse’s medical care and to help pay for future in-home care for Tiffany’s kids.
