People Are Sharing Stories of Celebs Being Awesome and It’s Such a Nice Change of Pace

We’ve seen a lot of celebrities go down in flames lately. Beloved actors and musicians, writers and reporters, all outed as being pretty much trash. Obviously, human are gonna human, and you never know what someone is really like. But still, finding out an actor you’ve admired for years is a disgusting sexual abuser can take the wind right out of your sails, you know? Twitter user BAKOON asked for people to share their awesome celeb stories as a nice palate cleanser.

And boy, did people deliver the goods.

Awesome celeb stories are hard to come by lately. But some of these are honestly fantastic.

That’s our Ritchie!

Honestly, I would’ve been super excited too! That’s a very neat feature.

The fact that Paul Rudd is delightful is not surprising.

Mike Crapbag is one of my favorite celebs, so this pleases me.

Method Man appreciates personal grooming.

Fun fact: Will Forte’s full name is Orville Willis Forte IV.

Sharing is caring!

I am admittedly a little weirded out by someone giving another person half-eaten yogurt, but it’s still a lovely gesture.

The Boss does seem genuinely nice.

Plus he’s not afraid to call people out on their shit, which is a quality I admire in people (normal and famous).

This one actually made me cry.

Mara starred in Matilda with Danny DeVito and Rhea Perlman, and wow. They sound like actual angels.

Hell yeah, Batman!

Keaton is the only Batman I acknowledge, because he was the best.

Anyone who gets food trucks for the crew is a-ok in my book.

Kathy Bates will always sort of scare me because of Misery, but this is solid.

I mean, KATHY. You’re killing me.

The Doctor sounds like a gentleman and a scholar.

Mara Wilson has so many stories from her time in the industry. The good ones are GOOD.

She was just a kid, and you can absolutely tell what someone is like as a person by how they treat kids. Good people.

Chris Martin isn’t just a talented musician, he’s a genuinely caring person.

Paying it forward is one of the nicest things you can do when you have so much to give.

Ok, this one made me cry, too.

The fact that he was battling his own demons, which eventually got the best of him, and STILL went out of his way to be kind to a stranger is just so touching.

The world was a better place when Robin Williams was in it.

This does not surprise me, because she’s freaking Mary Poppins.

I would just like Julie Andrews to read me stories. Any stories, I don’t even care. We can chat over tea.

When no one can dig up enough dirt on you to make your episode interesting…

Weird Al has always been a personal favorite, and I’m glad to hear he’s as nice as he seems.

Ice cream bars are delicious, so this makes sense.

I love that he tipped it towards the guy, like a nod to helping him enjoy a treat.

He stayed and picked up other people’s trash. I MEAN.

Awesome human, regardless of celebrity status.

Matthew even replied on the the thread!

Honestly, I ignore 80% of things people tag me in on the internet, and I’m a nobody.

Listen, smoking is bad. But this is hilarious.

It’s exactly the kind of thing a high school kid would get a kick out of and remember forever.

Vroom, vroom Hugh!

I bet Hugh feels like he has to be extra nice to people so no one thinks he’s like Dr. House.

Dave Grohl forever and ever.

True story: I worked at Bloomingdale’s when I was pregnant with my oldest, and Dave walked through my department once. We weren’t supposed to approach celebrities, but he’s Dave fucking Grohl, so I had to. He was the NICEST man I’ve ever met, and he hugged me and we talked about my pregnancy and then we took a picture together. It’s one of my most treasured memories.

Funny on TV, funnier in real life.

Also, we don’t thank our parents enough for having sex. It’s a weird thing to thank them for, but literally the reason we’re all here.

The world misses Prince so much.

He thanked them for crashing his party, ffs. That’s next level nice.

Full disclosure: all of these people could very well be assholes. Who knows! But they sound like genuinely lovely people, and at a time when we need some feel-good stories like this, we’re going to just imagine they’re all true.
