Angus Jones’s Mom For Sure Thinks Her Son’s Church Is Manipulating Him
After Angus Jones of “Two and a Half Men” came down hard on the show upon which he has appeared for nearly a decade, describing the content as “filth,” his mother has offered up a comment of her own. And she’s understandably worried. Not so much about her son’s faith, it seems, but rather his place of worship and the role those mentors are having in his life.
Forty-two-year-old Carey Jones told the MailOnline that when it comes to her son’s relatively new-found faith, she has her maternal worries:
“I’m concerned he’s being exploited by the church,” she explained, but refused to comment further.
Then again, Ms. Jones — along with many members of Angus’s family — have quite the criminal past, which come with both mother and father mug shots. And considering that her teenage son is pulling down $350,000 an episode, certain stage mothers would certainly like to keep paychecks like that a comin’.
But her son admittedly found his faith during a very trying period of his life, during his parents’ divorce. Prior to then, he was dabbling in drugs, but not since he got chummy with God:
“When I look back now I see that… the enemy was trying to push my in a different directions but God… pulled me out right at the last second,” he said.
“I was running away from that situation. Slowly that led to drugs. I never drank. And I’m still a virgin so God protected me from those things.”
Also, we may now have illuminated why Angus has continued to be appear on a show that offends his Christian sensibilities. Daily Mail reports that in another testimony, on the Seventh-day website the Voice Of Prophecy, Angus states that “he felt his role in Two And A Half Men was an opportunity to spread his beliefs to a wider audience.” But considering he explicitly told viewers to tune out of “Two and a Half Men,” I can only surmise that the whole spreading of his beliefs isn’t going well after all?
“I am confident I am there for a reason,” he said.
“I don’t think I would be on the show this year if God hadn’t pushed me into it because otherwise I genuinely didn’t want to do another year of the show.
“I’m so thankful to be there its a lot of fun and God will get the glory out of it.”
No one on the Jones team has commented on the status of his contract or where he can expect to be working in the coming months. But with Ms. Jones “concerns,” we officially have a new celebrity family drama to dominate the interwebs. Ariel Winter must be relieved.
