Amy Duggar Calls for Compassion Following Derick Dillard’s Transphobic Comments
At least one member of the Duggar clan has spoken out about the controversy surrounding Jill Duggar’s husband. Cousin Amy Duggar, who’s always been sort of a black sheep Duggar, used her platform to encourage kindness and compassion for all. Amy has gone in the complete opposite direction as her cousins since making her debut on the original Duggar show. So it’s no surprise that it was Amy who spoke out first, and in a way that was sort of low-key throwing shade at Jill’s husband. Duggar drama is so pure, we love it.

Amy Duggar tweeted in the wake of Derick Duggar being fired from Counting On.
You might not agree with someone or their lifestyle but you SHOULD be compassionate and show God's love regardless to everyone.

Derick, if you remember, has tweeted several times about TLC star Jazz Jennings. He seems to go out of his way to target her, and constantly misgenders her. He also blames her parents for “allowing” Jazz to transition, and said being transgender is a myth.
Amy said, “You might agree with someone or their lifestyle but you SHOULD be compassionate and show God’s love regardless to everyone.” Her tweet seems to be a direct hit on Derick. He’s tweeted about Jazz more than once, and has a real bee in his bonnet about her. Methinks the lad doth protest too much?
I pity Jazz, 4 those who take advantage of him in order 2 promote their agenda, including the parents who allow these kinds of decisions 2 be made by a child. It’s sad that ppl would use a juvenile this way. Again, nothing against him, just unfortunate what’s on tv these days.

*Her, *her, and yes, it’s unfortunate what’s on TV these days, reality TV star.
This is an Apple. You can dress it up like a banana, but it’s still an apple… #FactsFirst pic.twitter.com/2ABddvBbn9

Beware the apple to banana lobby!
Amy’s followers were very supportive of her stance, even if it is sort of middle-of-the-road. Being gay or trans isn’t a lifestyle or a choice. But, we can appreciate that she spoke out about the controversy, and it’s refreshing to see at least one member of the Duggar family who understand how hurtful and dangerous promoting those views can be.
I have friends that are gay and I still love them as a person. Thank you for following

The response to Derick’s transphobia, from the network that employed him and at least one member of the Duggar family, is pretty refreshing. It’s 2017, buddy. Try to keep up.
