Serena Williams Had a ’50s Themed Baby Shower and It Looked Amazing

Get your Pinterest boards ready: there’s a new baby shower theme to covet. Tennis star Serena Williams had a 50s themed baby shower and the photos from the event look amazing. Held this past Saturday, the athlete was feted by family and friends like Ciara, Kelly Rowland, Lala Anthony, and her sister, Venus Williams.

Williams, who accidentally announced her pregnancy back in April, is engaged to Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian. The couple met in a Rome hotel back in May 2015. At the time, Serena had never heard of Reddit and Alexis had never seen Serena play. Alexis quickly became a fixture at Serena’s matches. When Ohanian proposed the following year, he did it at the same hotel where they met. Awww.

With Williams’ due date being sometime this fall, it was the perfect time to celebrate “Baby O.”

The athlete’s guests look like they stepped straight off a time machine from the 1950s.

Dressed in polka dots and poodle skirts, Williams and her pals made the 50s look fabulous.

Held at the “Baby O Diner,” the shower had a vintage car, a jukebox, and a 50s-themed hashtag: #ShakeRattleRoll2017.

Serena herself clearly embraced the theme. Dressed in a bright-yellow poodle skirt and saddle shoes, with her black shirt tied up to show off her bump, Williams clearly enjoyed herself.

Dad-to-be Ohanian even got in on the fun, posting a Boomerang of the couple together.
