Mother’s Little Helper: Power Yoga From The Comfort Of Your Living Room

The other night at dinner, a couple of girlfriends and I were laughing about how stressed out we used to get over putting in a full day at the office and working out. For me, personally, I used to go straight from work to the gym, where I’d do a 60-minute spin class followed by weights, then out for dinner and drinks with friends. If only I still had the time!

Now that I have kids, the gym has become somewhat of a luxury. Most moms I know complain the only way to squeeze in a proper workout is to get up at an ungodly hour in the morning or to try and motivate once the kids are in bed. Or they head to the gym on weekends, as lots of women do, but the mommy guilt is all-consuming. Then there’s the whole treadmill-in-the-basement concept which, let’s face it, is soooo ’87.

Luckily, we’ve discovered a pretty cool solution to whole working-out dilemma that plagues busy moms. Our sister site Blisstree has partnered with The Blissology Project and Toronto’s 889 Yoga to bring streaming online yoga classes directly onto your laptop. They’re led by master yogi and hardcore surfer Eoin Finn, a Vancouver native and self-described “blissologist” who believes in a holistic approach to health (for example, combining power yoga with food awareness and an appreciation of nature).

It’s ideal for multitasking moms who are interested in working out but also living in the moment and not taking anything for granted (hello, story of my life). Plus, you can do it from the comfort of your living room (no more running out the door at 8 pm). For $10 you’ll get four of Eoin’s vinyasa yoga video classes, filmed at 889 Yoga, streamed directly into your home for 30 days. You’ll also get access to Eoin’s Blissology Project Booklet, which acts as a guide to finding some inner peace in our chaotic lives. To that we say, Bring it on! Or, rather, Namaste
