Mother Of The Year Kris Jenner Calls Khloe Kardashian ‘Fat’

kris jennerIf there’s one person in this world who can tell you your ass is looking big or that it’s time for highlights, it’s your mother. Not that it ever feels good to hear those things but hey, that’s kind of what moms (and sisters) do along with all the warm and fuzzy stuff. Most people brush it off and get on with things. Including Khloe Kardashian, it seems, who in the may issue of Cosmopolitan dishes on her famous momager Kris Jenner:

“She’ll say, ‘Oh, you’re a little too fat right now.’ If she were just my manager, I’d have fired her right then. You can’t talk to me like that.”

Khloe, who at 27 is the youngest member of the Kardashian clan, is sure to defend her mom as daughters tend to do. ”Listen, my mom believes in us more than we believe in ourselves,” she told Cosmopolitan. ”But she is also our manager and trying to protect our brand.”

That last part is kind of what kills me. Yes, it is absolutely a manager’s job to protect her client’s brand. But in this instance her client is her daughter and, well, you don’t go telling your child one who clearly struggles with her weight, no less, and who also happens to be desperately trying for a baby that she’s too fat.

The whole topic came up in the first place (publicly, anyway) when Jenner addressed Khloe’s weight gain on national television during an episode of Khloe & Lamar. Khloe and her sisters were trying to promote their QuickTrim diet supplement when Jenner pointed out that gaining weight wouldn’t exactly push sales.

”You don’t care and it’s very, very upsetting to me because I’ve worked so hard at creating what I think is a great deal for you girls and you’re not pulling your end of the weight,” Jenner told her daughter at the time. ”I feel like you could not chat [to the press] about how many cookies you’re eating in between meals.”

Khloe said that she had to maintain a certain weight to get pregnant, which she explained in no uncertain terms. ”To tell me I’m ruining a whole brand because of my weight gain makes me feel like shit. Get over yourself,” she told her mother. ”Do you want me to get pregnant? Do you want me to lose weight? You tell me you want me to have a baby every second, but I can’t be on some crazy diet. I just don’t get what you want out of me!”

Honestly, this sounds like the type of mother-daughter conversation that goes on behind closed doors in homes across the country. And there’s nothing wrong with it, if you ask me. But there is most certainly something wrong with this particular scenario because, truth be told, Kris Jenner seems more concerned with pimping out her daughters than anything else. Listening to her comments, she doesn’t seem worried about Khloe’s health or mental state but is instead focused solely on image and sales.

It’s time Kris Jenner put parenting ahead of managing, something she should have done long ago. Because, really, sometimes a girl just needs her mom to give her a hug and tell her it’ll be alright. Being called “fat” doesn’t have quite the same effect.
